A little character development... Failed rolls have taken a toll on your community. Food is scarce and continued attempts to roll for new crop growth have yielded only drought and broken machinery. Your people watch the lords grow fat as they collect the remainder of money and livestock in taxes. Those who rolled to negotiate with them lost the shirts off their backs as well. In these hard times, you, hero to your townspeople, are sent on a quest: find the one from legend who will restore the balance. After many moons, your journey is nearing it's end. The savior you seek lies just ahead. Though a small fire lights your way forward, the mysterious figure is shrouded in darkness. You approach with fear and hope warring in your heart. 'Are you the one?' you ask. There is no response. A hand reaches from the shadows into a cauldron bubbling on the logs of the fire. It grasps something within and emerges to offer you the hidden object. You open your own hands to receive the gift without hesitation. Although the items are hissing with steam, they are cool to your touch. You glance down and see six gleaming black dice in your hands. 'These will work.' The figure whispers. 'Thank you, thank you!' you say. You hesitate for a moment, but you must know. 'Who are you?' 'They call me...the Dice Witch.'
